Daniel's 40th Birthday: 2025 Fundraiser
May 2025: The DJD Friedland Foundation hosted a fundraiser in honor of Daniel Friedland’s 40th birthday. Held at the Park Pavilion, the event brought together nearly 150 guests to celebrate Daniel’s legacy and support the work carried out in his and Dustin’s names. The evening featured raffles, a 50/50 draw, and generous contributions from sponsors and attendees. Thanks to the incredible community that surrounds us, we raised over $27,000—an inspiring reflection of the love Daniel left behind and the impact he continues to have. We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us. The community's presence, generosity, and spirit made the evening one Daniel surely would have loved. Moments like these remind us that Daniel and Dustin’s memories continue to unite and inspire us.

March 2021: The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center (The Center) is grateful to the Dustin J. & Daniel Friedland Foundation for its generous grant of $2,000 awarded on May 5, 2020, to support the array of programming offered at The Center that benefits NYC’s diverse LGBTQ communities. The grant from the DJD Foundation has allowed The Center to provide services to thousands of LGBTQ New Yorkers. Prior to COVID-19, we welcomed more than 6,000 weekly visitors and hosted more than 300 groups monthly in our Greenwich Village home. The Center’s mission is to empower LGBTQ people to lead healthy and successful lives, celebrate our diversity, and advocate for justice and opportunity. The New York Times calls The Center the “closest thing to a communal living room” for LGBTQ New Yorkers.
